So, as of now I am considered an artist. Why? Well I have officially won first place in an art contest at the community college! Amy Lee is the won that won!

The whole time I was there I just thought it was neat to have my work on display in a real contest. I never thought that I would actually win anything though. So when it came time to hear the names of who won in what category, my art was pounding like crazy! I didn't even hear my name, so why was I feeling like this? Then finally I heard the lady call my name to for the award of distinction and $50 prize. She struggled to say my name and I said yeah that's how you say it, and then it hit me when people started clapping. I was so stunned.

I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to have a piece of work at this contest. I got my foot in the door to start my way off to college. The art teachers there know me now and are expecting me to join in the fall. The best part of all, I have a mentor now and she can't wait to work with me!
